Good day Roger!

The different stages and aspects of dementia

Alice forgets. Alice confuses. Alice blames. Alice disappears. In a distant past with her lover Roger.

Her daughters and sons, her loved ones, neighbors, and caregivers take turns going through an emotional roller coaster in this play, which shines a taboo-free spotlight on the process of dementia.
The various stages of dementia—and, in particular, the key considerations for caregivers—are explored. Through interactive means, the audience’s fears, questions, and hopes are brought to life on stage.

In this performance, we follow the main character, Alice, from before the illness to the most severe phase of the disease. The interaction with the audience ensures a high level of involvement. The characters and the actual course of events are determined on the spot by the audience. The performance was constructed in collaboration with people from the field and teachers from care disciplines, and is based on solid content. The actors pay the greatest attention to the balance between serenity and putting things into perspective, so that the performance is neither superficial nor heavy or corny.
The atmosphere we want to convey is one of candor and courage.

The performance is suitable for a variety of audiences: students in healthcare fields, caregivers and nurses, volunteers, informal caregivers, and family members involved in the care of people with dementia.
