(Improvisational) theater is a powerful learning tool. Augusto Boal (founder of forum theater) called it "Rehearsal for Reality."
It is an embodied way of learning. It's also a natural way of learning; preschoolers learn through drama, through after-play and prelude.
Several of Inspinazie's players are active as communication trainers, process facilitators or coaches in addition to being on stage. They all deploy improv frequently during their sessions.
How can TIM contribute to your trainings?
TIM trainings
Call on us for highly effective training in:
- Collaboration and team building
- Authentic and resilient communication
- Feedback
- Dealing with communication stress
- Role, rank and relationship
- Présence
- Storytelling
- Creative thinking and action
- Improvisational wisdom in life & work ( see also Living Impro)
- Newness: dealing with difference
Our trainings consist of a fine balance of interpretation, practice and reflection. In our professional lives, we have one foot in training rooms and the other on a stage, so we know better than anyone how to integrate play and learning with each other. We work primarily on a customized basis in companies and organizations. Nevertheless, we regularly organize training for a wide audience. An overview of our open offer can be found here.
ALSO ONLINE!
Since the beginning of the first lockdown, we have successfully used online training. Nothing is lost here in terms of playfulness, interactivity or the power of e.g. the use of role-playing. So don't delay your coaching and training for fear of losing quality! Contace us with all your questions about it.
Learning about role-playing and other theatrical work forms in training
Nathalie Van Renterghem combines her didactic background and her expertise in improvisational theater and training, and has been guiding other trainers in effectively implementing role-play in training for over twenty years. You can call on her for:
- A presentation with demos for trainers who want to use (more) role-playing.
- A train-the-trainer course on the use of role-playing in training consisting of two modules of one day each.
Day 1 - principles and forms of work
Day 2 - supervision and refinement
Actors for role-playing in training
The actors of TIM Theater / Inspinazie are experienced training actors. Trainers we work with confirm time and again how improvisational actors are best suited for this job. After all, in effective role-playing during training sessions, it is necessary to be able to adapt razor-sharp to what presents itself and to the learning needs of each trainee.
Using our role-play actors can also be used in online training and coaching!
Video materials for workshops and introductions
For some workshops or parts of training, the use of live role-play actors is not necessary. In workshops or in more theoretical parts of trainings, often concise illustrations suffice. For this we create simple and flexible video material.
> Generic: designed based on fundamental principles and easily linked to specific theoretical models
> Natural: people do not interact as in abstract and theoretical communication models, which is why videos in training sometimes feel very unnatural and create resistance. In our videos we follow the spirit of models and not the letter, allowing participants to see more connection to "how things really are."
> Sharp: the videos are usually short and sweet, and just that tad magnified to make the right point
Our video packages can be used in a subscription format per year or for one-time use. They are intended for training, not for events.
